Care for Philippines

Care for Philippines

K4Phil Intercessors Convergence 2011
May 7, 2011

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. - 1 Timothy 2:1-4

This it is to encourage everyone to pray for the government and for the authorities.

But before that, there is one negative mindset that we need to demolish. “Complaining”

Complaining about our government and its process is easy, but it won’t do us any good.  Instead, let us be involved in changing Philippines to a better nation.  Let us start in praying. For we know, that the prayer of a righteous man is effective and powerful.

Indeed, it is hard to pray for those who are not pleasing and unlovable. But let us not lean-on on our own understanding.  God mandated us to INTERCEDE for the authorities, LOVE our enemies and PRAY for those who persecute us.

WHY PRAY for the authorities.

1.       They are God’s delegated authorities.

Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. For he is God’s servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. - Romans 13:1-5

Authorities are not perfect. They are imperfect human beings as we all are. Do not expect too much from them. We will pray for them not for “who” they are but for “what” they are. They are God’s delegated authorities.

2.       Their rulership affects our daily lives.

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. - 1 Timothy 2:1-2

Their job affects us. Praying for them is also doing you a huge favor.

3.       Because God wants to save the civil rulers.

This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. - 1 Timothy 2:4

God wants to save them too. HE wants all people to be reconciled to HIM.

WHAT to PRAY for the authorities
  • KALUSUGAN (health)
  • KALIGTASAN (safety and salvation)
  • KARUNUNGAN (wisdom)
  • KATUWIRAN (reasoning / way of thinking)

WHOM to pray

o   President
o   MMDA Chairman
o   Mayor
o   Brngy Chairman

Other authorities to pray for:
Judiciary
Legislative
Law Enforcers
Media
Parents
Teachers
Employers
Clergy

WHEN to pray

At least four times a day.  But of course, you can do it your way.

Example:
Pray for the President in the morning,
Include MMDA Chairman in your prayers in breakfast,
Pray for the Mayor in the Lunch time,
And the Brngy Chairman before dinner.

It is your choice. This is just to make sure that you won’t fall to sleep while praying for many people and for many reasons.

Please don’t miss the point. God hear our prayers NOT because of many words or how long we pray.

God look at our hearts.

Let us do everything out of LOVE.

Let us be involved in changing Philippines to a better nation.  By this, the whole world will know that there is a God in Philippines. All will hear that our LORD saves.

Blessed is the nation whom Lord is JESUS CHRIST.

OMNIPRESENT GOD

OMNIPRESENT GOD

What does JESUS mean when HE said, “I am with you” and “I will never leave you nor forsake you”?

God is indeed with you all the time. God is with you right now. God is with you when you are sick, sad, happy, playing, reading, working, walking, name it all! God is with you always. God is actively involved in our day-to-day lives.

Now, knowing that God is always with us, this shall bring COMFORT, CONVICTION and CONFIDENCE in our lives.

-COMFORT

Our God is the God of all comfort. (2 Corinthians 1:3) Our God is our ever-present help in times of need. (Psalm 46:1)

We need not to set an appointment when we need to speak to HIM. We have an instant access and instant connection to HIM. God is our help 24/7.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18)

If you need help, pray. God is with you. HE cares and HE is ready to listen.

-CONVICTION

Knowing that God is always with us makes us revere HIM with HOLY FEAR.

Let me differentiate fear and HOLY FEAR.

Fear is the fear of the wrath of God. That is the fear of Hell. As we all know, apart from the grace of God revealed in JESUS CHRIST, the only thing left for us is the wrath of God.

HOLY FEAR on the other hand is our LOVE FOR GOD. HE wants us to have HOLY FEAR for HIM.

When we say we love and respect God; and knowing that HE is with us, we will be conscious of what we are doing. We will not dare to do awful and wicked things because we love God and we do not want to hurt HIM.

JESUS deserves our praise and worship. Live a life that honors HIM.

-CONFIDENCE

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in HIM.” (Jeremiah 17:7)

God is with you. Whatever it is you are dealing right now, trust God and be strong. God is mighty to save.

If you’ve been living a sinful life and you want it no more. Just pray, trust and obey God. He will not condemn you. You are forgiven! Now, have faith in JESUS and repent. Confidence will follow when faith takes the lead. Do not be afraid. God is always with you each step of the way.

God is always with us. Let us live a life that honors HIM.

God bless!

STANDING TALL IN THE BATTLE

STANDING TALL IN THE BATTLE

(1 Samuel 17:45-50)

In the battle between David and Goliath, we can say that Goliath has an advantage over David. He has been a fighting man from his youth. He has the height, the armor, the sword and maybe a thousand Philistine army cheering for him. He has all the advantage yet he loses and died. Why? Because he lacked the most important shield in a battle. Goliath failed because God is not with him.

David on the other hand was just a boy with a sling and a stone. Yet, he came out and faced the giant. With much boldness he said, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD ALMIGHTY.” “All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s….” David believed in God and he declared his victory even before the battle begun. David won because God is with him.

We all have our own giants in our lives. Problems that make our head ache and hunt us even in our dreams. Problems that never seems to leave us. Or maybe a sin that keeps us away from God. All these things may shake and break us. But fear no more! Be strong! If we believe in our hearts that Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us; then stand firm! If God is with us, who can be against us? Whatever problem or sin that we are facing right now, do not be afraid! Do not lose hope. Stand firm in your faith.

Like David, believe in Jesus and declare your victory over tribulations.

In Jesus name, be slaves of your problems and sin no more!

God is with you, let nothing move you!

God bless!

JESUS RISEN

My strength comes from the LORD.
My help comes from the living GOD.
My victory over the giants is sure and it was proven, when JESUS RISEN.

JESUS freed me
JESUS redeemed me
JESUS won the battle for me
JESUS never leaves me nor forsakes me
JESUS lives

I am victorious because JESUS RISEN
My LORD and SAVIOR is victorious because JESUS RISEN
There is no other like my GOD because JESUS RISEN
There is no greater than my GOD because JESUS RISEN

This is the strength and confidence I have when I am in the midst of the storms;
JESUS THE MESSIAH HAS RISEN

MARRIAGE....

Victory Ortigas Youth
February 19, 2010_Meeting Minutes
Read: Mark 10: 1-12
DIVORCE
1Jesus then left that place and went into the region of Judea and across the Jordan. Again crowds of people came to him, and as was his custom, he taught them.
2Some Pharisees came and tested him by asking, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?"
3"What did Moses command you?" he replied.
4They said, "Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away."
5"It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law," Jesus replied. 6"But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.'[a] 7'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,[b] 8and the two will become one flesh.'[c] So they are no longer two, but one. 9Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."
10When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this. 11He answered, "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. 12And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery."

“GOD’S PERSPECTIVE SHOULD BE OUR STANDARDS OF MARRIAGE.”

1. Marriage is a COVENANT.
- It meant to be forever.
- It is blood sealed.
“Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.” – Mark 10:9

2. Marriage is a COMMUNION.
- It is designed to be intimate.
“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one.” – Mark 10:7-8

3. Marriage is COMPLIMENTARY.
- It has responsibility.
“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife.” – Mak 10:7

MARRIAGE IS THE UNION OF A MAN AND WOMAN WHO WANTS TO MAKE GOD HAPPY EVER AFTER....

Pursuing GOD: FELLOWSHIP

* We pursue GOD together.

“By a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, HIS body, and since we have a great priest over the house of GOD, let us draw near to GOD with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for HE who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another- and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” – HEBREWS 10:20-25

*GOD wants us to worship HIM together.

“Then say to him, The LORD, the GOD of the Hebrews, has sent me to say to you: Let MY PEOPLE go, so that THEY may worship ME in the desert.” – EXODUS 7:16

“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; for HE is our GOD and we are the people of HIS pasture, the flock under HIS care.” – PSALM 95: 6-7

What is FELLOWSHIP?
• Fellowship is a MUTUAL SHARING.
• Fellowship is a PARTNERSHIP.
• Fellowship is a JOINT PARTICIPATION.

*LET US DRAW NEAR TO GOD.
“Let us draw near to GOD with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.” – HEBREWS 10:22

*LET US HOLD UNSWERVINGLY.
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for HE who promised is faithful.” - HEBREWS 10:23

*LET US SPUR ONE ANOTHER.
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” - HEBREWS 10:24

“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” – PROVERBS 27:17

*LET US CONTINUE TO MEET TOGETHER.
“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another- and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” – HEBREWS 10:25

What are the avenues of pursuing GOD together?
• When we WORSHIP GOD together.
• When we PRAY together.

- It is not finding time; it is MAKING time for the fellowship.

The CROSS signifies:
• The vertical line means we can have relationship with GOD.
• The horizontal line means we can have relationship with one another (together).

“We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the FATHER and with HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST.” - 1 JOHN 1:3

FELLOWSHIP IS CENTERED TO CHRIST.
